“I
have been employed by Sunset Harbor at Meadows Manor North for twenty-six
years. When I walked through the doors on February 11, 1981, I knew
this is where I should be. I have been able to use my electronic
experience over the years and have learned numerous skills that have
enhanced
my job performance. Meadows Manor North is a beautiful facility.
It has been my privilege to work for this company all these years.
We
have a great staff and our administrator is very nice and has a motherly
heart. I have had numerous opportunities to be a stand-in-chaplain.
I have met many wonderful residents and their families, which have
enriched my life and have made many friends. As there have been many
changes over the years one thing remains constant . . . people need
to be cared for and loved.”

“I
started at Meadows Manor North July 9, 1987 ~ I will celebrate twenty
years in July. I think we have a wonderful staff. Dottie is not just
an Administrator . . . she is a leader. Everyone is very caring and
works together. My goal as a Certified Nursing Assistant is to provide
the best quality of care that I can during a resident’s stay.
I enjoy working here with the staff and residents.
One of the happiest days, as a Restorative Aide, is to watch the resident
improve, achieve their goals, and return to their home.
Meadows Manor North is a wonderful place to work.”
Wilma Pittman, CNA, Restorative Aide

“My
name is Gladys Anderson. I have worked here for 20 years. Nine years
in the kitchen ~ then I went to school to be Certified and have been Dietary
Manager for 11 years. I have a great staff ~ most have been with me for at
least five years. Together we prepare the meals to taste like home
cooking. My staff
enjoys their work and they do it well. We enjoy serving the elderly, especially
when many residents compliment the homemade taste. I am proud to say I work
at Meadows Manor North.”

“The
last twelve years have been so wonderful ~ residents wait for us
to come in every morning and anticipate the activities for the day.
They
are always ready to give us hugs and share with us. They are truly
giving people. We have a very homelike atmosphere here. The residents
may not always know our names, but they recognize our face and know
we do the activities here.
In Activities, there is never a day the same as any other and we
are, without a doubt, here for the residents. They don’t care
where you came from, how rich or poor you are, or your religion.
They just want you to show up with a
smile on your face and ready to give them the time of day.
The residents love pet visits and the school children that come to visit from
our local schools. “Friends for Life” come once a month during the
school year. To me it’s a lot like HEAVEN, because we are all equal and
we all just have fun.”

“My
name is June Gordon. I have served as Dietary Consultant to this
organization since February 1, 1977. In the years since, I have seen
many changes in State and Federal regulations affecting the nursing
home industry. At no time, however, have I ever felt pressure to
compromise the nutritional needs of our residents for the sake of
securing the “bottom line”. A “bare bones” nutrition
services mentality seen at some other sites I have provided services
to over the years has never existed at Sunset Harbor in my tenure.
As a result of this and many other factors, not the least of which
is integrity, I am proud to express my affiliation with this organization
for the past 30 years.”

“My
name is Ada Schommer. I am in Social Services and have served the
residents and their families
for 3 _ years
and love it. Each day I strive to provide the best quality of care
for our residents by solving any personal or social concerns of our
residents
and families. I also coordinate our residents to see the On-Sight Eye
Consultants, On-Site Mobile Dentists, and Podiatrist. I am proud to
be a member of such a great team here at Meadows Manor North.
Stop by to visit and I will be happy to give you a tour!!!”

“My
mother has been at Meadows Manor North about seven years. She has
recently celebrated her 100th birthday and was the January Resident
Spotlight
in the Meadows Manor North newsletter. My mother-in-law is also here.
This nursing home is always clean and the staff is terrific! They
are always very helpful and attentive. I would recommend Meadows
Manor North to anyone.”

His Mother a Resident since June 2001

“I
have been here for slightly over a year and have been fortunate to
have a fabulous roommate. She is more like family.
The atmosphere is generally pretty good and most of the staff is
helpful and friendly. They do their best to make it feel like home.”
Jeanette Ford, Resident since March 2005

“I
find Meadows Manor North to be a comfortable place to live. The food
is good and they accommodate for the resident’s dietary needs.
I am a fairly self-reliant resident and like to spend the majority
of my time crocheting and I am allowed the privacy to enjoy this
hobby.
However, when I need help the staff at Meadows Manor North is always
here to assist me.”
Gertrude Ellinger, Resident since August 2006
